Weekly homework 9th of April

Welcome back everyone!!

I hope you all had a lovely break, I heard lots of great stories today all about it!!

The homework for term 3 is a little different than last term as I feel they are well able for a little bit more of a challenge.

Week 1

1. Reading - The Wrong Car Pages 1-6, please use the little booklet to ask questions about these pages and develop their comprehension skills. Please make sure the book is in their bag everyday as we will be using them in class too.

2. Writing Copy - Each week the children will write 3 sentences in their copy about the topic for that week. This week the topic is plants/ trees. Please write a title, the date and 3 sentences this week. We are working on ensuring we have capital letters, full stops, spaces and writing on the line.

3. Maths worksheet - Each week the children will get a maths worksheet to practice their mental maths and addition skills. The back of the sheet is optional .

4. Tricky words - We have completed the list of tricky words for our level and so we just need to practice, practice, practice using them this term. You will find a board game in the folder too to practice these.

Homework will be collected on Friday morning so please ensure the folders are in their bags for collection on Friday.

Any issues or problems with the homework, as always, please let me know and we can adapt and change as necessary.

Some important information!

Hello everyone, Just a few reminders and notices for you all. On Monday morning the Junior Infants will start lining up at the numbers '1' or '2' in the basketball court. We will come out and collect the class when the bell goes at 8.30. We would ask the parents not to come in with the children from Monday onwards as there are a lot of children and teachers making their way to their own classrooms. This will also help to establish a classroom routine and get the children used to coming in without their parents.  The children will also be starting a longer day from Monday, so they will finish at 1.20 each afternoon.  Some parents received Glanmore food menus to avail of the school lunches for the children. If you could please complete these and return them by Wednesday, that would be great! If you didn't get a form today, let us know and we will give one to you on Monday.  Lastly, could you please give your child a baby photo of themselves to bri
