Choo- choo, all aboard the Belmayne Express!

The children are really enjoying this Aistear topic of 'The Train Station'. They have been creating beautiful trains using different materials, they are working together to build train stations and trains and they have been going on journeys all around Ireland on the Belmayne E.T train!
 
They have been learning a lot of new words such as 'conductor', 'return ticket', 'single ticket', 'platform', 'carriage', 'steam train', 'level crossing' and 'train tracks'.

New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'.     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b'     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. Come on in to the Belmayne Restaurant!

The children have been learning about the restaurant in Aistear over the last two weeks, as well as creating wonderful art by the French artist Henri Matisse, exploring magnets and designing and building their own restaurants and French landmarks.  Have a look at all the things they've been getting up to!
