Blending Week

                 This week we are learning how to blend all of the sounds we know so far.

We can make so many words using all of these sounds. 

Today we started making these words using our blending mats; 


Here are more words we will be making this week. 
Can you make them on your blending mat at home??
Remember to start at the green sound and end at the red.

Please practice the formation of the sounds 't' and 'i' in the handwriting book only please.

New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'.     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b'     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. Come on in to the Belmayne Restaurant!

The children have been learning about the restaurant in Aistear over the last two weeks, as well as creating wonderful art by the French artist Henri Matisse, exploring magnets and designing and building their own restaurants and French landmarks.  Have a look at all the things they've been getting up to!
