Homework 12th of June

At Belmayne ETNS we value the holistic education of our children. As such a decision was made at our staff meeting to give NO WRITTEN HOMEWORK for the remainder of June.

Allow your child to be busy with the work of the child....PLAY and BE KIND.

Instead use this time to:

*help your parents in the house
*Walk your dog
*Learn a song *turn off all social media for one evening
*play /chat with your friend *visit the library
*tidy your room
*plant a flower
*climb a tree
*go for a walk
*play your favourite sport
*read a book
*play a board game
*chat to a friend
*visit an elderly neighbour/grandparents
*cook/bake a new recipe
*organise a street clean
*make up a new game
*draw, paint, colour,create
*play some music
*dance
......in short.....just BE A CHILD

Please email pictures of June homework activities to belmayneetpaula@gmail.com for our website.

The children will be given the reader Where can GG sit?, as well as the reading homework guide to complete for another short period as it is still hugely important to practice their reading each night.

These readers will be sent home tomorrow and will be collected on the 22nd of June.

'a, a, ants on my arm!'

Today we learned all about the sound... Our rhyme for this sound goes like this - 'Curve around, up like a helicopter, bump, back down and kick.' We made sure to check our classroom for things beginning with the 'a' sound so you could have a look around and see if you can spot anything beginning with 'a' outside school! Here is the song for this sound. We have also been practicing our tricky word, 'the', and trying to find it hiding in different places around the classroom!

Christmas Play Music

Christmas Play Music Hi everyone,  Here are the songs we need to learn for our Christmas show.  We need costumes for elves, mice, cat, dog, fairy, doll, teddy, superhero, Santa and Mrs Santa.  We can do a lot with face paint and coloured clothes but if anyone has anything that might suit these characters, please let us know! Twas the Night Before Christmas Poem  ‘Twas the night before Christmas And all through the house Not a creature was stirring Not even a mouse. The stockings were hung By the chimney with care In the hopes that St Nicholas Soon would be there. But the family were sick They were struck down with flu And Christmas was cancelled What else could they do? But Mrs Saint Nick had other ideas And quickly she gathered her team They created Christmas all through the house As though it took place in a dream. So in came St Nicholas Our Santa by name And Christmas was ready So that's why he came....

A huge thank you and happy summer!

Hey everyone,  I just want to say thank you so much for such a wonderful two years. The children are a credit to all the parents and each child should be very proud of themselves because they have come so far since starting in Junior Infants two years ago.  They are all so unique and full of personality and have given me so much happiness and laughs every day. I'll miss them hugely but I know they will love the new challenges and exciting changes in First Class.  Always feel free to pop into me whenever you're passing and good luck in the future! Jessica ☺
