Winter assembly and note home

As you might know, we are doing a Winter Assembly on the 16th of December at 9.15 a.m.

Today, the children were given a note and their parts. If your child brought lines home, please practice these with them as well as their homework each night.

The children will need costumes for this assembly so here are some suggestions for costume ideas.

Narrators:

Red tshirts/jumpers and jeans or red dress

Angels:

White fairy dress/or long white plain shirt, white tights, slippers or soft shoes, tinsel for halo, small wings (optional)

Snow flakes:

Long white shirt, white tights/trousers, soft shoes/slippers

Mary:

Blue dress/long shirt, white tights, blue/white cloth or towel for head

Joseph:

Long shirt, dark trousers

Shepherds:

Long shirt, cloth/towel for head

Wise Men:

Long coloured t-shirt, coloured trousers

Please let me know if your child will not be here for the Winter Assembly as we have already allocated parts and would need to know as soon as possible if we have to change these parts.

Thank you all for your support, it really is much appreciated!

'a, a, ants on my arm!'

Today we learned all about the sound... Our rhyme for this sound goes like this - 'Curve around, up like a helicopter, bump, back down and kick.' We made sure to check our classroom for things beginning with the 'a' sound so you could have a look around and see if you can spot anything beginning with 'a' outside school! Here is the song for this sound. We have also been practicing our tricky word, 'the', and trying to find it hiding in different places around the classroom!

Weekly homework 19th of February

Hi Everyone,  I hope you all had a lovely mid term break! We had a student teacher, Conor, start with us today and he will be teaching the class for four weeks. The children are all very excited! Feel free to come to me if you have any questions etc as I will still be in the classroom during this period.  Here is the homework for the week:  1. Tricky Words Revision of the tricky words (3 from the old list and 3 from the new list) ' the ', ' all ', ' no ', ' old ', ' many ' and ' should '.  2: Reading The children have been given new readers in their folders.  Once your child gets a new book, please fill in the date they received the book and sign the sheet if you feel your child has completed the book to the best of their ability.  When completing this at home, please focus on fluency, pacing, good expression and a good understanding of the book they are reading.  As always, if you have any questions about this please ...

Christmas Play Music

Christmas Play Music Hi everyone,  Here are the songs we need to learn for our Christmas show.  We need costumes for elves, mice, cat, dog, fairy, doll, teddy, superhero, Santa and Mrs Santa.  We can do a lot with face paint and coloured clothes but if anyone has anything that might suit these characters, please let us know! Twas the Night Before Christmas Poem  ‘Twas the night before Christmas And all through the house Not a creature was stirring Not even a mouse. The stockings were hung By the chimney with care In the hopes that St Nicholas Soon would be there. But the family were sick They were struck down with flu And Christmas was cancelled What else could they do? But Mrs Saint Nick had other ideas And quickly she gathered her team They created Christmas all through the house As though it took place in a dream. So in came St Nicholas Our Santa by name And Christmas was ready So that's why he came....
