Weekly homework 5th of February

Hi all,

Here is the homework for the week: 

1. Tricky Words

Revision of the tricky words (3 from the old list and 3 from the new list) 'I', 'are', 'go', 'only', 'any' and 'could'

 2: Reading
The children have been given new readers in their folders. 
  • Starting tomorrow, each child will get a list of book titles with a specific colour. (yellow, red, blue and green)
  • Once your child gets a new book, please fill in the date they received the book and sign the sheet if you feel your child has completed the book to the best of their ability. 
  • The children will read their book on Monday and Tuesday night and I will listen to them on Wednesday to see if it is possible for them to move onto a new book for Wednesday and Thursday night. 
  • Once they have read all the books in that specific colour group, they will move on to the next group of books. 
  • When completing this at home, please focus on fluency, pacing, good expression and a good understanding of the book they are reading.

3: Sound Booklet
Our sound this week is the 'er' sound. Please complete page 12 in the Sound Booklet.

4: Handwriting copy 
Complete the next two pages in the handwriting book.  
Please recite the formation rhymes as the children write the letters.

New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'.     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b'     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. The sound of drums!

The whole of Belmayne E.T have been having great fun learning how to play the drums this week!  The children got to play lots of different drums and bells, using drumsticks. They were all very excited and as you might guess from some of their expressions, I think we may already have some children in our class who would love to learn this instrument! 😁
