A visit from a Postman!

We were very lucky to have a visit from a postman in Junior Infants today! Bonnie and Blake's dad came in to visit us and tell us all about the work he does in the GPO in Dublin City.

He had a postbox and a carrier back for all the post and he even brought us in postcards and pencils for us to write our very own postcards. We really enjoyed having him in and he made learning about the Post Office lots of fun!

New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'.     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b'     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. They are:         are            all   Please make sure to practice all of our tricky words we have learned so far and please complete the 'f' and 'b' pages in the Sound Book as well as the worksheets. The sound of drums!

The whole of Belmayne E.T have been having great fun learning how to play the drums this week!  The children got to play lots of different drums and bells, using drumsticks. They were all very excited and as you might guess from some of their expressions, I think we may already have some children in our class who would love to learn this instrument! 😁
