Weekly Homework Wednesday 18/10/17

Hi Everyone!

Hope we're all doing fine after Storm Ophelia and the two unexpected days off!

The homework will be the same so please do your very best to get it done for Friday :)

1. Tricky Words: Revise and learn the words make, down, no, go, so.

We are practicing the tricky word little in class.

2. Ella Goes to the Airport: Read Pages 9 - 12 in the book.

3. Sound Booklet: Our sound this week is 'ai'. Please complete Page 5 in the booklet.

4. Handwriting Copy: Practice writing the letters and i, l, t, b, p and k only on Page 5 this week.

Please recite the formation rhymes as the children write the letters.

Please do not go ahead in the written homework.

You can decide how much or little you do on each evening but I would suggest to practice their reading every night.

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Here is the homework for the week: 1. Tricky Words Revision of the tricky words ' other ' to ' their '. 2: Reading The children have been given new readers in their folders. If the book seems too easy or difficult please let me know as we are working on fluency and comprehension. 3: Sound Booklet Our sound this week is the 'short oo ' sound. New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'. The formation rhyme for this sound is; 'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b' The formation rhyme for this sound is; 'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. Come on in to the Belmayne Restaurant!

The children have been learning about the restaurant in Aistear over the last two weeks, as well as creating wonderful art by the French artist Henri Matisse, exploring magnets and designing and building their own restaurants and French landmarks. Have a look at all the things they've been getting up to!
