Sports Day!

What a great day the children had at the Sports day today! The weather was beautiful and the children had so much fun, playing a huge amount of different games. 

Our class was split into two groups and they got to play games like mini hurling, space hoppers, parachute, bean bag toss, snatch the bacon, water relay and musical chairs. Some children had burgers and sweets, lovely! 

Well done to Gearóid and Karl for organising it and to all the parents that volunteered to help... Happy Friday!

New sounds and tricky words for December!

Happy December everybody! The children are doing very well with their sounds and blending and we will be going over these during the next couple of weeks. Our first sound this week is 'f'.     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Curve at the sky, turn and dive down, bump the line and cross.' The next sound we will be learning is 'b'     The formation rhyme for this sound is;  'Dive down, swim up to the middle, curve around and stop.' We have two tricky words this week so just do your best to learn both of them. Come on in to the Belmayne Restaurant!

The children have been learning about the restaurant in Aistear over the last two weeks, as well as creating wonderful art by the French artist Henri Matisse, exploring magnets and designing and building their own restaurants and French landmarks.  Have a look at all the things they've been getting up to!
